New America Foundation will host a public forum in Scranton, Pennsylvania tonight for residents to discuss ways to boost the flow of local news and information, increase citizen engagement, and improve access to high-quality information.  The Knight Commission on the Information Needs of Communities in a Democracy and its report, Informing Communities, will guide the discussion,  Informing Scranton: Gauging Community News and Information Needs. New America Foundation Fellow Jessica Durkin, a Scranton resident and former newspaper reporter, will be the presenter. The event will take place at the University of Scranton’s DeNaples Center, McIlhenny Ballroom, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
