DC Open Government Coalition Launches Website

The D.C. Open Government Coalition, organized in June to improve public access to government information and meetings in the District, has a new website and will hold its first public event on October 21st. Here’s the URL: http://www.dcogc.org. Colbert King of the Washington Post will moderate. Panel includes Lucy Dalglish of Reporter’s Committee for Freedom of the Press and members of the local press.  The session will address “how D.C. compares with other cities and states, the success stories, the roadblocks and the next steps for improving public access to government information in D.C.” This is a great example of one community stepping forward to engage on open government.
